September Theme: "POP vs. PAPA" We will discuss the difference between the call and beckon of the demanding Pop Culture that we live in versus the loving call and beckon of our deserving heavenly Father (Papa). October Theme: "Scary Stuff" In late Spring, ONEGROUP discuss a few "hot topics" while viewing the movie To Save a Life. In October, we will revisit these topics and discuss them futher by diving into Scripture, hearing personal testimony and role playing certain situations. Be advised that some of the material is heavy, but they are all issues that the youth will come into contact with at some point and we as leaders feel it is wise to educate them. November Theme: "Thankfulness" With Thanksgiving approaching, ONEGROUP will discuss what it truly means to be thankful for things that we overlook every day. We tend to ignore the simplest of blessings from God & without them, we wouldn't be who we are. December Theme: "New Birth" Christmas reminds us all of Christ's birth, but it should also remind us that in Christ, we have new life. We will discuss how living for Christ calls for a different type of walk, a different type of talk, and a different type of mindset. Normality isn't an option. January Theme: "A Fresh Start" Once we realize that we have new birth in Christ, we also realize that we have grace. Grace leads us on a new journey and washes us clean, giving us a fresh start to be the people God has created for a purpose. We will discuss God's plan for our lives and the most effective ways to stay on those paths. February Theme: "Mushy Love vs. Maker's Love" Everyone knows that February is the month of love, but do they realize that 365 days a year they have the opportunity to celebrate God's love? For those that wish to or struggle to "find the one," we will discuss that finding "the ONE Almighty" is the first important step. We will talk about how loving God and being loved by God is a two-way street; it is a constant date; it is a lifetime committment that cannot be broken. A Maker's love is far more important that the mushy stuff. |
