Emily started as the Youth Director at LUMC June 15, 2011 after graduating from Pfeiffer University in May, 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Youth Ministries and Chrisitian Education. Emily is orginally from Winston-Salem, NC and is a born-and-raised Methodist. She felt the calling into Youth Ministry after a weekend retreat called "Chrysalis" in 2005 and has eagerly pursued it ever since. She is one of 4 children--the youngest of 3 brothers--and if she's not in the office, she's most likely dancing, singing, listening to music, or hanging out with her family, friends, or boyfriend, Derek. Emily was the Director of Children & Youth Ministries at Mt. Carmel UMC in Winston-Salem, NC for the summers of 2007 and 2008 and was on staff with Carolina Cross Connection as Lead Program Coordinator for the summers of 2009 and 2010. Emily is very excited for this new adventure with the Lewisville youth, and cannot wait to see where God leads them, together.

Mandee began her work and studies in Nursing, but after two years in Nursing School, she changed her major to Commercial Art and Advertising. She has been working as a Design Manager and Graphic Artist for RJR and Southern Graphics for 18 years and loves her job. Mandee lives in Lewisville with her husband Michael, a woodturning artist, and our two teenagers, Kerstee and Aaron. Kerstee began college this year and Aaron is enjoying his last year in middle school. Mandee enjoys computer design, golf, reading and baking. She loves sharing and learning about Christ with our wonderful youth and leaders.

Matt has been a member of LUMC since 1996. He was born and raised in the corn fields of Central Illinois, but has lived in North Carolina for 20 years and will never live anywhere else! Matt is a huge fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, Green Bay Packers, and the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. He and his wife, Christy, have been married for 16 years and have two children, Macey and Brett. Matt is working with the Youth Group for the second year, and is blessed to spend time with a great group of middle-schoolers! This calling is a humbling experience for him, knowing the challenges that youth will face as they journey through middle and high school.

Dona grew up an "authentic" California Valley Girl in the 70's, raised by a South Carolina cotton mill town Momma. She got her degree in Anthropology and worked in field archaeology for 20 years. She met her husband, George, while on a project in Wyoming and they've been together 30 years. They have two adult children and find their greatest joy in hangin' with the youth. Dona has been involved with the LUMC youth for about 10 years as well as being a former Cub Scout leader and Girl Scout leader. She loves to camp, cook for a crowd, read, travel, and generally be silly. She does not like panty hose, poor grammar, pimentos, or ticks.
